La Jolla was first incorporated in 1850; however, it wasn’t until 1867 that the first developmental parcels of land were sold by the water (formerly known as The Cove). Known for its vast array of ocean views, moderate paradise temperatures (70˚F/21˚C), and protected scenic lands, La Jolla is perhaps one of the most coveted coastal communities amongst the nation (La Jolla Historical Society 2018). Nestled in a private cove alongside the Pacific Ocean open waters, La Jolla is a coastal community consisting of 16 micro neighborhoods that appeals to all lifestyles such as: coastline condos, beach bungalows, affluent single-family homes, and stunning award-winning estates with pristine ocean front panoramic views.  Located within close proximity to two international airports (San Diego/Tijuana), La Jolla is 19 kilometers North of downtown San Diego, and 64 kilometers (19 km/11.8 miles, and 64 km/39.7 miles) South of Orange County. A true gem, this rugged coastline offers world renowned white sandy beaches, bluffs, coves, and surf for all to enjoy.
